The Birds in the Sky Filet Pattern is another of my own patterns, this took a lot of editing and feedback (thank you Hooked on Crochet UK on Facebook) to get it to look right but we got there.
Below I’ll include the chart to create the Birds in the Sky Filet Pattern along with a numerical breakdown for each row, the number being the amount of double crochet in a row a comma indicating where to ch1 sk1 to create the filet pattern and the X after the brackets indicating the amount of repeats you chose to do to gain your desired size. The breakdown does not account for the beginning chain if you chose to use one instead of foundation stitches or any turning chains, you may wish to ch2 and work a DC into the same st or ch3 and count that as your first stitch I personally used a foundation stitch for the first row and chained 3 counting this as the first stitch for each row.
I used double knit yarn with a 5mm hook which created a block 11″wide by 11.5″ tall, to create a blanket you will need to repeat the pattern blocks to the width you’d like, for a baby blanket I would suggest 3 repeats wide by 3 repeats tall.
I hope you all enjoy 💕
